Jack Scrap (Yeak Laom) is a volcanic lake, which is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Cambodia. Also this place is the most beautiful in the whole province of Ratanakiri.
The Ratanakiri province is located in the North-Eastern part of the country and shares borders with Laos and Vietnam. The population around the lake is one of the eight representatives of national minorities – Tampon (the names presented here are the phonetic transcription of the Khmer alphabet and a variety of sources, the names may vary). They live in five villages. The oldest villagers still remember times when on territory of modern city of Banlung (Ratanakiri) paced the tigers and other wild animals. Campany have their own culture and language that are fundamentally different from Khmer. Traditional houses of the people Tampon are constructed from four kinds of materials: wood base, bamboo walls and floor, the sheets on the wall and the roof and rattan into the ropes. The scenic lake Kivu, which is on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, attracted the attention of scientists from all over the world, but the popularity of the reservoir is not linked to its beauty.
Under a layer of water of the lake keeps dangerous deposits of carbon dioxide and tens of billions of cubic meters of methane generated by bacteria in the pond. This deadly combination makes lake Kivu the real bomb. If in these parts there’s an earthquake, deadly ingredients are “mixed” and the lake will simply explode.
Scientists estimate that lake Kivu is a threat to at least two million people who live in a dangerous area. In the event of volcanic activity or earthquake they will be killed by the explosion of methane and of carbon dioxide poisoning.

Rano KAU is a crater lake which is on the mysterious and amazingly beautiful Easter island. This lake is one of three natural freshwater lakes on the island.
After 3 hours of climbing up, I could see the whole complex of volcanic lakes with Islands. Triangular shadow going to the horizon that the shadow of Rinjani at dawn. To the right of the shadow on the far horizon you can see Bali (very tiny). In the middle of the crater (20 km in diameter) is not so long ago there appeared an island Grunge Bar.
